ORGANIC FARMING AND SUSTAINABILITY
Working in harmony with nature means respecting its rhythms and enhancing its resources, through careful and responsible agricultural practices. This approach guides us daily in selecting the best products of the earth.
We believe in the diversity of raw materials and their unique value. This is why we bring rice, cereals, seeds, flours and legumes to tables all over the world that meet different dietary needs, respecting the environment and offering an authentic experience in every recipe.
For this reason, Vignola is committed to promoting both organic farming, which guarantees products grown without synthetic chemicals, and careful and responsible management of every stage of the supply chain, from land selection to resource management.
Respect for Nature
Each bean undergoes rigorous testing to preserve its quality and authenticity. The use of methods such as green mulching and precision farming allows us to optimize resources, for organic production that respects the environment.

ORGANIC, A CHOICE OF FIELD
The enhancement of the supply chain is one of the pillars of Riso Vignola 1880: our company promotes quality agriculture, cultivating directly on over 1.000 hectares of owned rice fields and collaborating with selected producers who share our ethical and quality standards.
We believe in organic as the future of food and we are progressively increasing the share dedicated to organic production.

MULCHING
A biological and controlled method
At Cerealicola San Giacomo in Livorno Ferraris (VC), one of the Vignola family's farms, we have applied the green mulching technique to rice cultivation on a large scale. This natural method allows for optimized water and organic fertilizer management, ensuring a reduced environmental impact.
The process involves the autumn sowing of a forage crop, which is pressed with a roller in the spring before direct sowing of rice. The natural mulch that forms inhibits the growth of weeds, reducing the need for external interventions and improving growing conditions.
Thanks to this technique, we obtain organic rice grown using a natural method, in which the vegetation cover creates the conditions for a richer ecosystem, welcoming spontaneous flora and beneficial soil fauna.
